The Beautiful Foundation conducts fundraising and support projects in South Korea to support the areas in our society that slip through the cracks and don't receive the attention they need. At the same time, we do consistently carry out activities related to global issues, multicultural families, etc.
We held the campaign to support Utoro village in Japan that has historical significance in Korea and abroad, and we also conducted diverse projects such as supporting the education and rights of migrant workers in South Korea and supporting multicultural families. We once launched a support project to help set up and grow related public interest groups.
Moreover, The Beautiful Foundation's studies on philanthropy are carried out actively based on networks formed in South Korea and abroad. Since 2017, we have been participating in the Doing Good Index, the global study that compares and analyzes different institutions. We are contributing to making South Korea's philanthropy known by sharing South Korea's case studies and performance through international networks.
We recently participated in Asia Pacific Giving Network(APGN) and are expanding our cooperation activities in such ways as collaboration in global studies with foreign universities and running internship programs.
The Beautiful Foundation uses the donations for our designated project. We are running a long-term ‘designated fund’ for the continuous and stable performance of our designated project. This could mean a difference in the amounts of donation and distribution each year. Moreover, the profit made from the designated fund also goes towards costs for our designated project that is used to support projects.
In addition to the donation and distribution amounts, The Beautiful Foundation's overall management of funds can be viewed in our annual report released every year.
The Beautiful Foundation is a nonprofit public interest foundation that supports an average of 40 philanthropic projects a year. We need people who will do this work with responsibility and the space for them to work in. We also need operating expenses to pay our taxes and provide office supplies. As a public interest corporation, The Beautiful Foundation determines the operating expenses under the relevant legislation, and we faithfully report on how we use the money so that the operating expenses we need are incurred transparently.
Furthermore, as the first civic public interest foundation of South Korea, The Beautiful Foundation isn't affected by any individual, corporation, or religion and doesn't receive government support. We only operate through the donations of citizens. A portion of the donation that our members pour into 'Making The Beautiful Foundation Fund' is used for office management and the Foundation's sustenance.
The Beautiful Foundation generally doesn't accept In-kind donation. However, the Beautiful Store will welcome them with open arms. When you want to donate any belongings or goods, please call the Beautiful Store (+82-2-2115-7045, 7046), or check their website (www.beautifulstore.org/eng/) for more information. If necessary, product pick-up can be arranged.
